Hello to you all in Cigar Outpost, I just wanted to drop a line and let you all know who I am and send my Thanks to you as well. I am 1SG Monty Lash stationed in Bagram Afghanistan and have been here since DEC 08 and am the 1SG for a small detachment of Infantryman and we are better known as Pathfinders. I am a member of Cigar Asylum and have been for about 6 months and have just learned about this site today. I have been receiving support from members in Cigar Asylum for a while now and I have been traveling all of Afghanistan handing out Cigars that have been sent over here to me from the members of Cigar Asylum. I am an Infantryman by trade and have been in the Army for 22 years and I am better known as the Cigarman by most over here from my travels. I have traveled to some remote places and to almost all the major FOBs and COPs in Afghanistan to include Bagram, Kandahar, Shank, Jalalabad, Salerno and many others. Throughout my travels while always visiting my Soldiers that are out there 100 of them, I have been delivering cigars. I must say that the Soldiers love it when I show up and they are always looking for a good smoke as well to blow off some steam and or to just relax. I have handed out so many cigars it is to many to count and it has been a pleasure for me to do so. I keep little to no cigars for myself because I enjoy just handing them to a hard working Soldier male and female alike. Your efforts and the efforts of many others have really made a difference over here in the Morale of these fine Soldiers and for that I thank you all for it.

I Just received a BOMB from JoeyBear and others from your site and I must say it is awesome. My supplies were low unitl Joeys package and another from CA arrived this week. I want to extend a Big Thank You to all who supported this effort and to all who support others over here in Afghanistan. I am amazed of the support you all have provided to the Soldiers that are serving from the United States you are making a difference in the lives all these Soldiers and you need to know that. I will be traveling tomorrow to Salerno and will be there for about two weeks conducting missions with my Soldiers and others from 25th ID. I will be sure to make it a point to be handing out some of these fine cigars that you have provided. I take more pleasure in handing a Soldier a good cigar than anything I do over here.

Keep up the outstanding support and to all who participate you are awesome and will always be remembered for your gererosity to the Troops. I am humbled by the amount of support you all provide my Soldiers and the many other Soldiers, Sailors, Arimen and Marines. Thank you all and I look forward to communicating to you all here in this forum as well as CA.

Thanks
Monty Lash

Sadly I can not say I was a part of that bomb, however having sent some to the troops in the past, I am happy to know they reached you and that they will be received with so much enjoyment.

Thank you for your (and your fellow soldiers) service. We owe you more than any number of cigars could ever repay.

1SG Lash,
Many of the Cigars that were sent to you were collected at my 52nd B-Day Herf. It fills me with great pride and joy that they were received by such a deserving group of BOTL's. If you or any of your Soldiers are ever in the Chicago area let us know and and we will try and arrange a herf. Our best wishes, and by all means stay safe and enjoy the smokes.

Thank you very much for taking time to acknowledge receipt of the cigars and to share your appreciation! As has been said, sending cigars is the least fellow cigars smokers can do to show support for our troops; be safe and come home soon!!

I just thought I would let all know that I delivered about 75 cigars to some Soldiers in a Northern FOB while I was visiting my team there last week. I can assure you that the smokes will get into the hands of the Soldiers that are working hard and can deserve a good smoke. Thank you to all who participated in the package that was received last week it has already paid dividends to some great Soldiers in the field. Thanks once again to all who support the Troops.
