What cigar/cigars have you had that changed from pretty decent to damned good with a bit of age? The Taboo SFBC I smoked earlier had about 9 months on it and aged pretty well, but the Joya de Nic Celebration became amazing.

I smoked a CAO L'anniversaire Maduro the other day that I have had sitting for about a year.It was the cigar that really got me into cigar smoking and I have always enjoyed them. But with a years age it was amazing!!

I have only had my humis here a couple of months, but I can tell you that I smoked a punch gran puro in August, and another last week... After sitting for just a couple of months I could tell a huge difference.

Padron 2000 maduro. Found 3 of them last time I cleaned out my humidors. They were all that remained out of a box I bought 3 yrs ealier. Now these guys are great out of the box, but give them a few years and the chocolate is absolutely phenomenal! At $3/stick or so, they are my go-to smoke.

I found that the IT Super Fuertes did well with some age. About 9 months did the trick. They turned out to be a pretty good smoke.

Illusione mk. Mine are 9 months old now and I think at 3 years they would be golden.
The flipside:I have most of a box of Oliva V lanceros that are at least a year old and they have gone flat IMO.

Good call Mike! I have a box of Illusione cg:4 from November 2006 and I can definitely tell the difference (I have a couple boxes from January 2008). I'd love to keep some mk or 68's long enough to get some age on them, but who am I kidding... that's just not gonna happen. :D
I haven't dug into the V lancero's in a while, but the Double Robusto's I bought at the launch event still taste great. They've lost a bit of the edginess, but I think that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Any cigar made by Rocky Patel. I bought a few OWRs in June 2007 at a RP NYC event. I had a OWR the day after the event, and thought the cigar was horrible (and I love RP to death..lol) I let the other OWR rest and finally smoked it a year later and all I could say was WOW!!! I was trying to find more OWRs in the humi...lol
I smoked a 777 yesterday it was terrible it keep going out hard to drag, But that was right out of the store i will get another and let sit and see what that does

We've got a box of Illusione 88's with over a year age on them and yes, they are phenomenal. Now, the hard part is not blowing through them all.
Hate to hear that about the V Lanceros. Still have 3/4 of a box we got back in April. Need to try one out soon and see how they're holding up. Hopefully, it's just you Mike! :p

I've only been smoking cigars for about 2 or 3 months now, so aging is in weeks for me, not months or years (one day though!). So far I can tell that most all cigars from the Davidoff parent company need time to rest, otherwise you might get a hint of some kind of chemical like taste. A few weeks and that goes away completely!

I agree with you, Sandi, RP makes a great cigar along with Pepin. My go to aged cigar will always be an Opus,,,it's like coming home all over again.

I have 4 Opus-X left. I'm gonna let them season for a year or so. When it comes to RP, you just can't go wrong. I haven't found one yet that I was disappointed with. Same goes for Padilla and Arturo Fuente. I've only had one Don Francisco but it was fantastic. I have 4 more of his Lanceros I'm gonna let em nap for a while.
I opened a box of OR AVO LE05s last week and even though they are a mild-medium cigar, they are truly coming into their own now! Anejo 46s tend to age well. Illusione cg:4s and 68s from 2007 are smoking really well now too - lost a little of the flavor pop but soooo smooth. I think the Tat SW Reserva maduros should really do well down the road.

I had some Perdomo Fresh Rolled about a year ago. I smoked one the other week ad it was friggin great. I rang my girl, told her to hurry uo and come over, and she thought it was great too. About 2 weeks later I tried another incase it was a fluke, but it was just as good. Then i rummaged around and found I only had one left :( Im going to let that sit for another 6 months or so.

haha I have some left in my box, but the box is no longer in the humi since I don't plan on smoking them. I don't want to give them away either, since they suck too bad.
Anyway, I've found that the CAO Brazilias smoke really well with about a year on them. Unfortunately I only have a couple left of the box of them I bought a while back. They definitely smoothed out a lot compared to how they were OTT.

I've got one of each and was just looking at them last night - wondering how they taste.
The ones I have were sent as part of bomb from a guy who lives in Houston and used to run a cigar forum - thus have some sentimental value.
Guess they'll be part of cigar history - and I've got some of it in my humidor.

Thank you that does help quite a bit... I often find myself lost with all the abbreviations. Makes me think I'm in the military again. LOL
